
Local, state and national elections
The elections in Colombia take place every 4 years, all Colombians have the right to vote, but many were refraining from doing so, either through lack of motivation or because they simply is useless.
The recent elections of October 25th were their elected mayors and governors passed with total calm, abstinence was reduced which promoted the high participation of citizens. The surveys pointed as possible winner to Enrique Peñalosa for Mayor of Bogota, which in fact happened.
The choice of elected regional affects the travel agencies because each mandate, taxes, the laws and regulations may vary; until now the mayor Peñalosa has not spoken to near the tourist sector, however, is waiting for any changes that may arise if the dollar continues to grow.
The winners were announced through the media, and, according to the page Colombia.com, winners were: "Enrique Peñalosa for Bogota, Federico Gutierrez for Medellin and Maurice Armitage for Cali.” 33
