
Potential entry of new competitors
Colombia has as a direct competitor Peru with a similar behave, because they both have good profitability per visitor and have some of the same factors to standout in the area of competitiveness. Even though Mexico leads in performance (arrivals- incomes- competitiveness) and Thailand, remain competitive, receives lees revenues per tourist.
Colombia stands out in the training of its human capital , natural tourist resources and economic freedom, but still must work for greater global competitiveness.
The rivalry in the alternative tourism is low, but exist, two specific competitors that can affect our company are:
1. Ecolodge el Almejal S.A.S: a small hotel committed to responsible tourism, and social and environmental responsibility, located in Bahia Solano on Colombia's Pacific coast..
This business have some similarities with our company. The kind of service we want to offer has the same goal which bringing the best experience to our customers but taking care of the environment, and also they offer the service of ecotourism which is one of the services that we want to be focused in.
2. El Refugio: this nature reserve is a private sector project, and with environmentally conscious, supports the protection of tropical rainforests in the Canyon of Rio Claro, at the same time developing ecotourism with educational - recreational programs.
This company is a direct competitor for our project because first of all, offers the service of hostels that we want to put in our company whit the same concept of interact with the environment, in second place they have similar activities for the tourist to know and get close to the animals and with the exotic environment that our country provide.
