Special locate, state, federal laws

The tourist laws apply in the same way throughout the national territory and apply for both the locals and for foreigners, any violation of the laws leads to criminal sanctions and monetary policies. The most important tourist law is the law 1558 issued by the Congress on 10 July 2012.

 

“Law 1558 issued by the Congress on 10 July 2012, which amended the Law 300 of 1996.”

In this act the Congress sets the hierarchy of the organs of the control desk as well as the regulations made in other years and the resolutions of the regulations governing this economic sector. 

 

Article 7 of this law stipulates that the hierarchy for the control of the tourism sector is: “

1. The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.

2. The Minister of the Interior.

3. The Minister of Foreign Affairs.

 4. The Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

 5. The Minister of Transport.

6. The Minister of Culture.

7. The Deputy Minister of Tourism.

8. The Director of the Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aeronautics.

9. The Director of the Special Unit of Migration Colombia.

10. The Director of the Special Administrative Unit of National Parks.

11. The Director General of the National Police.

 12. The Director General of the seine. 13. The Minister of Information and Communications Technologies or his delegate.”
