According to Camilo Herrera , president of Raddar , the low number of couples who choose to marry in Colombia has much to do with economic impact generated to link in a legal form. The costs involved in the formalization of the relationship made the couple think if is convenient or not to invest a considerable sum of money on it.

in 2014 the superintendent of Notaries and Registration , Jorge Enrique Velez, revealed statistics that measure the performance of marriages during the year 2014. The official said that from January to November 2014, civil marriages in Colombia they increased by 1.77 %, compared to 2o13.
